The //M20 is the entry-level model in the FlashArray//M series (launched around 2015). It uses a modular, stateless architecture with dual active-active controllers, NV-RAM for write protection, and DirectFlash modules (custom flash packs containing two SSDs each). With Purity software, it provides inline deduplication, compression, thin provisioning, and always-on encryption, achieving 5-10x effective capacity. The Cisco SNS-3515-K9 (also known as Cisco Secure Network Server 3515, hardware revision V01) is a 1U rack-mountable appliance purpose-built for Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) deployments. It serves as a dedicated physical platform for running Cisco ISE software in medium-to-large-scale enterprise, government, or service provider environments requiring high-performance policy enforcement, RADIUS/TACACS+, profiling, posture assessment, guest access, BYOD, 802.1X, and TrustSec/SGT services.

The SNS-3515-K9 is the mid-range appliance in the Cisco Secure Network Server family (below the high-end SNS-3655/3695 and above the entry-level SNS-3415). It is optimized for ISE 2.0 through ISE 3.x deployments (still supported on current ISE 3.4 as of 2026) and provides dedicated hardware acceleration and reliability for authentication, authorization, accounting (AAA), profiling, and policy services.

The appliance is pre-installed with Cisco ISE software (customer downloads the ISE ISO and installs it during initial setup). It is fully validated and supported by Cisco TAC for ISE deployments up to 50,000–100,000+ active endpoints (depending on ISE version, deployment type, and feature usage).
