The MP Biomedicals FastPrep-24 is a high-performance benchtop bead-beating homogenizer used for rapid and efficient lysis and homogenization of biological samples. It is widely regarded as one of the best instruments for mechanical disruption of tough samples in molecular biology, genomics, microbiology, and proteomics laboratories.

The FastPrep-24 can simultaneously process up to 24 samples in 2 mL tubes using high-speed linear motion and specialized lysing matrix beads. It delivers consistent and reproducible results in seconds, effectively breaking down difficult samples such as bacteria, yeast, fungi, plant tissues, animal tissues, soil, feces, and environmental matrices to release high-quality DNA, RNA, and proteins for downstream applications
